Setting up an agent for a client

The same setup conversation, answered on your client's behalf — and where you should not guess.

Setting up a client's agent is the same conversation you would have for yourself — the five phases, the same questions, the same first posts to grade — with the robot talking about the client instead of you. What changes is who answers each question.

Three things that are different

  1. Every question has an "Also ask {client}" switch. Tick it and the question is added to the list you will send them. It never stops you answering too — you can write what you know and still ask them to add to it. See Asking your client for answers.
  2. The schedule step includes a time zone for the client, because their posts should go out on their clock, not yours.
  3. The connect step becomes "Send to {client}" unless they are physically with you. You cannot sign in to their LinkedIn, and you should not want to; the link lets them do it themselves in thirty seconds.

What to answer yourself, and what to send

The rule: answer what you know; send what you would be guessing at. An agent built on an account manager's guesses about a client's career writes posts that are confidently wrong, and a client who spots one invented detail stops trusting all of them.

The head start works for clients too

Ask the client for screenshots of their LinkedIn profile and their best posts before your kickoff call, or take them from their public profile during it. Uploaded at the head-start step they pre-fill the identity and topic answers and — if there are real posts — give the agent their voice. The screenshots are read once and discarded; only the text stays, as notes on the client's agent. That is the single biggest shortcut in the whole process.

Finishing

Finish with the client's accounts connected and the agency plan (or your trial) covering it, and the agent starts. Finish with anything still owed by the client and the agent waits, paused, with "Waiting on {client}" on their page — the picker to resend is right there, and you get an email the moment they answer. See What your client sees for their side of it.

Existing client of yours with an existing voice? Do the head start with their screenshots, grade the three posts yourself, take the express finish, and send them only the connect link and the grading step. Most clients are live the same day.
