Your schedule
Days, times and time zone — how the agent decides when a post goes out.
The schedule is the agent's clock: which days and what times a post goes out. It is the only part of setup with a default you can accept without reading — Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM — and most people should.
Choosing days and times
- Two to three posts a week is what we recommend for a professional building a presence. It is enough to be seen regularly, and little enough that every post can be good. You can go higher; the agent will keep up, but the audience may not.
- Mid-morning on weekdays is a sensible default for LinkedIn. If you know your audience — dentists read at lunch, developers late — set it for them.
- Multiple times per day are allowed. Each time on each chosen day is one post.
- Monthly schedules exist too: specific dates, and a "last day of the month" option for months of different lengths. See Schedule semantics for exactly how they are evaluated.
Time zone
Times are in your time zone — the one on your Settings page. There is no separate time zone per agent, which is one less thing to get wrong. Travelling does not change anything unless you change the setting; a 9:00 AM post keeps going out at 9:00 AM at home.
Agents that belong to a client have their own time zone, set on the client's page, because a Boston agency running a Denver dentist's account should post on Denver time. Until it is set, the client runs on yours.
What the schedule controls — and what it doesn't
The schedule decides when. It does not decide what. At each slot the agent looks at the outbox: if a post is queued, that post goes out; if the queue is empty, it writes a fresh one on the spot from that morning's material. Queued posts, the look-ahead email and one-off "post now" actions all sit on top of the schedule without changing it. See The outbox.
Changing it later
From the agent's page, "Schedule" opens the same picker. Changes take effect at the next slot; nothing already scheduled is moved. Pausing the agent stops the clock entirely without touching the schedule, so resuming picks up on the same days and times.
A note on precision. The agent checks its schedule once a minute and posts within a couple of minutes of the chosen time. If a post could not be published on the first attempt — the platform was down, say — it is retried three more times over the next 45 minutes before it is marked "Failed to post" in your outbox and on the Posts page. Nothing posts twice.
