Connecting your accounts
What connecting LinkedIn (or X, Threads, Facebook, Instagram) grants, and what it doesn't.
Connecting an account is how the agent gets permission to post as you. It happens on the platform's own sign-in page — LinkedIn's, X's, Facebook's — never on ours, and it takes about thirty seconds.
What connecting grants
- Permission to publish posts to that one account on your behalf.
- Your display name and profile picture, so the account is recognisable in your list.
What it does not grant
- Your password. We never see it. The platform issues a limited token that can be revoked from your account settings on that platform at any time.
- Access to your messages, connections, or feed. The agent posts; it does not read your inbox or scrape your network.
- Your existing posts. The agent does not pull your history from the platform. If you want it to learn from past posts, you give it screenshots — see Your voice.
Platforms
LinkedIn, X, Threads, Facebook and Instagram. Instagram requires a Business or Creator account, and connecting it is also what enables Threads. Each platform has its own character limit, and an agent posting to several at once writes to the tightest one. See Platforms and limits.
During setup
The connect step lists accounts you have already connected, pre-ticked, and offers to connect new ones. Finishing:
- With an account ticked and your trial or plan active → the agent starts, and the first post goes out at the next scheduled slot.
- With an account ticked but nothing covering it → everything is saved and the agent waits, paused, with a note saying why. See Billing and the free trial.
- With no account → the agent finishes setup paused. Connect later from the agent's page or from Accounts, and start it with one click.
Later on
- Tokens expire. LinkedIn's, for example, roughly every two months. We check every account a few times a day and email you the moment one needs reconnecting, with a link that does it in one step. See When an account needs reconnecting.
- One account, several agents. The same connected account can be used by more than one agent — a personal-voice agent and a firm-news agent, say.
- Disconnecting removes our token. An agent left with no account pauses itself rather than failing at its next slot.
Under the hood, we use a single publishing partner that maintains the official integrations with each platform, rather than building and maintaining five of our own. Your posting request goes to them; your credentials never go to us. See What we store, and what we don't.
