Setting up your agent

The setup conversation

How the guided setup is organised, how to pause and resume it, and when to skip ahead.

Setting up your agent is a conversation with the robot, not a settings form. It asks, you answer, and it shows you posts as soon as it has enough to write from. The whole thing takes a few minutes once, and you can leave and come back at any point.

The five phases

The bar at the top of the screen shows where you are. Not every phase applies to everyone, which is why you may see fewer than five.

PhaseWhat happensCan you skip it?
Head start You give the agent your LinkedIn — screenshots of your profile and posts, a profile PDF, or pasted text — and it reads it once to pre-answer as much as it can. See Your voice for why screenshots of your own posts matter most. Yes. "Skip — just ask me" goes straight to the questions.
First posts From your LinkedIn, or from just three answers (who you are, what you speak on, who you write for), the agent writes three posts, one at a time. You grade them. It happens automatically; grading is optional but it is the best input you can give.
Tune The remaining questions — your voice, what you would never sound like, off-limits topics, your posting style, real material to draw from — plus image style, documents to draw from, a first-comment promo, a second round of posts to grade, and whether you want posts emailed ahead of time. Yes. From the first posts, the arrow skips ahead; "Teach me more about you" continues. You can always come back to it later from your agent's page.
Schedule Which days and times posts go out. See Your schedule. Continuing without choosing applies the default: Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM.
Connect You connect the account the agent will post to, on the platform's own sign-in page. See Connecting your accounts. Yes — the agent finishes setup paused and waits until an account is connected.

Two ways through

The fastest path is screenshots of your LinkedIn profile and your own posts. With enough to go on, the agent writes your first three posts before asking you a single question, and shows you a "What I learned" panel listing everything it inferred so nothing is decided invisibly. If those posts are already close, the arrow takes you straight to schedule and connect — the tuning phase is marked "skipped" and you are done in a couple of minutes.

The richer path is the interview: nine questions, each with live feedback as you type, examples of how other people answered, and the agent's own guesses for you to correct. Most people who take the fast path come back for the interview later, once they have seen a week of posts and know what they want to sharpen.

How the questions work

  • You get feedback as you type. When you pause, the agent reads what is there and tells you whether it is enough to write from — "great", "good, could be richer", or "I'll need more here eventually" — always phrased as what it means for your posts. The read is about richness, never about whether what you wrote is true.
  • Stuck? Open "Not sure what to say? Examples and ideas". It shows what the agent is looking for, how other people answered, and its own guesses for you. Tap a guess and it lands in the box for you to fix — nothing goes into your brief unedited.
  • Pre-filled answers are drafts. A "Pre-filled from LinkedIn — confirm or edit" chip means the agent drafted the answer from what it read. Confirm it or rewrite it; either is a one-second decision.
  • Optional questions say so. Voice, what makes you cringe, and off-limits topics can be skipped. The three questions the first posts depend on cannot.
  • Follow-ups are offered, not imposed. When an answer is thin the agent asks one more thing. If it is optional, "Skip — good as is" is right there with equal weight.

Leaving and coming back

Close the tab, take a call, switch to your laptop — your progress is kept. Within the hour you land back on the exact screen you left, with anything that was still generating intact. After that, the agent saves where you were for 30 days and greets you with "Welcome back. I kept everything from before". Answers you already typed come back pre-filled. Screenshots you uploaded are not kept — only the text the agent read from them — so a resumed head-start step says so and lets you add more or just continue.

If you already have an agent

From an existing agent's page, the same conversation is how you change things ("Want to share something new?", "Let me ask you something", "Redo my onboarding"). "Switch to console" in the top-right opens the full control panel — brief, sources, posts, outbox — for people who would rather edit directly. Both views edit the same agent.

The one thing worth doing well: grade the first posts honestly, including a note on what was off. A thumbs-down with "too salesy — I never pitch in a post" teaches the agent more than any adjective in the voice question.
