Asking your client for answers
The "Also ask" switches and the single private link that gets your client involved.
Some things only your client can do (connect their LinkedIn), and some things they know far better than you (how they actually write, the story behind their career). The hand-off lets you ask for all of it in one private link, sent under your agency's name, without your client creating an account or remembering a password.
Two ways to build the request
- As you go. During the setup conversation every question has an "Also ask {client}" switch. Tick it when you would be guessing. The switches only build a shortlist — they never stop you answering too, and nothing is sent until you say so.
- All at once. On the client's page, "Ask {client} for something" opens the picker with the full catalog. Anything you ticked during setup is pre-ticked; adjust freely.
The picker
Everything you can ask for, grouped as the client's page will ask it:
| Group | Items |
|---|---|
| Only they can do | Connect their account — pre-ticked whenever the client has no account yet. The platform needs them signed in on their own browser; there is no way around this and there should not be. |
| About them | Their LinkedIn screenshots or profile PDF; who they are; what they speak on; who they write for; how they write; what they would never sound like; off limits; posting style; real material to draw from. |
| Material & preferences | Documents to draw from (a book, guide or talk as a PDF); how often to post; the first-comment promo. |
| Posts | They grade the posts — a thumbs up or down on the drafts, which sound like them. |
Tick as little as possible. A client asked for three things answers today; a client asked for twelve answers next month. Connect + grade + voice screenshots is the request that gets most clients live.
Sending it
- Email {client} sends the request to their contact email, from your agency, with the button matched to what you asked ("Connect securely", "Look over the posts", or "Share securely"). Needs a contact email on their page.
- Copy link gives you the same private link to paste into your own email, a text, or a call follow-up — useful when you would rather it come from a person than a system.
Either way the link is private to that client, works for 30 days, and covers exactly what you ticked. The client's page shows "Waiting on {client}" from the moment you send, with the picker one click away to resend or adjust.
What comes back
- Answers land directly on the client's agent — in the brief, as material, as grades — the moment they are given. There is nothing to approve or copy over.
- You get an email, "{client} answered", listing what they shared with a read on each answer: Rich enough, Usable, but thin, or Too little. Thin answers are the ones worth a follow-up call.
- When the client connects an account, the agent starts on the spot if your plan covers it — no further step from you.
- If the client stops halfway, their progress is kept; the same link brings them back to where they were.
Small print
- The link is a bearer link: anyone holding it can act as the client for those items. Send it to the client, not to a shared inbox.
- After 30 days the link says "This link isn't valid anymore"; send a fresh one from the picker.
- A client who has finished everything sees "All done — thank you!" if they open it again.
- Every send updates the "Waiting on" timestamp. The state clears when nothing is outstanding.
