Your team and roles
Owner, Admin and Member: who can do what, and how invitations work.
Team members are free — invite as many as you need. There are three roles, and the only real difference between them is how much of the client list a person can see.
Roles
| Owner | Admin | Member | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sees and works on assigned clients | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Sees all clients | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Adds clients | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Edits brand name and logo | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Assigns account managers | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Invites team members | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Changes roles and removes members | ✓ | — | — |
| Billing | ✓ | — | — |
There is exactly one Owner — the person who created the organization, until they hand it over. The owner's account is the one the agency plan is billed to and the fallback recipient for every client's alerts.
Transferring ownership
The owner can make any teammate the owner from the crown icon on that person's row on the Organization page. It asks for the teammate's email typed back, then:
- The agency plan stays on the same card and keeps running; the new owner manages it and receives the receipts.
- The previous owner becomes an Admin — still sees and works every client, no billing or role changes.
- The new owner's own personal agents are covered by the agency plan from now on; the previous owner's no longer are.
- Alerts for clients without an account manager go to the new owner.
- Nothing changes for clients: agents, connected accounts, material and post history stay exactly as they were.
Both people get an email. The transfer is refused, with the reason shown, when the teammate already owns another organization (one agency per account) or has one of the clients' social accounts connected to their own personal profile. Only the new owner can transfer it back.
Inviting someone
- On the Organization page, enter their email and choose Member or Admin.
- They receive "You're invited to join {Your agency} on PostAgent" with a link that is good for 14 days.
- They sign in — or create a free account — and land in your agency workspace.
Things the join link will tell them plainly:
- The invitation has expired → send a new one.
- They need to sign in first → the link brings them back afterwards.
- They already belong to a different agency → one agency per account for now; they would need a separate login.
Members and assignment
A Member sees only clients they are assigned to as account manager. Assign on the client's page. Admins who add a client are made its account manager automatically. See Account managers.
Removing someone
Removing a member takes effect immediately. Any clients they managed are unassigned, and their alerts and look-ahead emails fall back to the owner until you assign someone else. Nothing about the clients themselves changes.
